Fashion Icons of the Seventies – Then and Now

Peace, love, and groovy was outta sight, and it went way outta sight when a new exciting era rolled in. The seventies was a game changer – it did not follow rules in fashion or otherwise. Chicks and dudes questioned everything and did their own thing, bigger and better than the sixties’ generation ever did. These top ten seventies fashion icons helped influence people’s version of style and how they looked at the world at large.

10. Jerry Hall

Six foot tall Texan Jerry Hall packed a trunk of Frederick of Hollywood’s clothing, left her family, and set off to see the world. She flew to France using the money she collected from an accident. Jerry immersed herself in Parisian life and became the darling of the Paris social scene. She made connections, grew her modeling portfolio, and soon commanded $1,000 a session. Her notable love connections included Mick Jagger, singer of the Rolling Stones. His wife Bianca divorced him because of Jerry. Jerry and Mick married in Bali, Mick cheated with a Brazilian model, and Jerry left him in 1999, taking with her $15 million as a lovely parting gift.

After the breakup, Jerry kept busy with modeling and taking minor acting roles. Recently, she took starring roles in two stage productions, Bus Stop and The Graduate. She was always in demand as a model, so it is not surprising she modeled for the L´Oreal Professionnel campaign and for the cover of Vanity Fair España in 2015. Also in 2015, Jerry was introduced to 84 year old billionaire Robert Murdoch. In January 2016, they announced their engagement in The Times newspaper and were married two months later. Their joyous occasion was witnessed by family, loved ones, and well known celebrity friends. This is his fourth marriage and this is Jerry’s first real marriage.
