When one enters the preaching profession, money usually is not a motivating factor. Pastors’ primary duties are to minister to the needs of their flock (hence the term “Pastor”) and share the word of God in an accessible manner. Successful preachers are most often charismatic and great at holding the attention of a crowd. Occasionally, they become so successful and expand their flock to such an extent that they reach hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of people. When this is the case, often big money is involved. See ten of the highest-paid preachers worldwide.
10. Franklin Graham
Son of renowned televangelist Billy Graham, Franklin Graham followed in his father’s footsteps and had helped prove that even preaching is a business in which a family can have a dynasty. Graham’s net worth is estimated at a whopping $25 million. Though he is now retired from preaching, he remains the president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse. He was criticized in 2008 for reporting $1.2 million in earnings and has since stopped drawing retirement funds from the church.
